Precious

What we have is precious to us. We enjoy going to church, we can not get enough of God's presence. To us we can not see why anyone wouldn't want to know this precious gospel we believe, why would anyone not want to be a new creature in Christ Jesus? We love to sacrifice, and to pray and fast. Reading the Bible is an enjoyment to us, the scriptures speak so loud and clear in our lives. We set aside time to go to church and church events, and we plan our lives around the kingdom of God. We that live for God are those that are willing to lose friends and even family members approval for the gospel's sake, we are those not looking for popularity but rather to please God. The revelation of One God is the very foundation of our doctrine, along with a man must be born again. When the world is saying contrary, we still get excited when Acts 2:38 is preached, it never gets old. We are those that have no problem being set apart from this world in our dress, our appearance, our attitude, our behavior, and our overall lifestyle. We born again believers are those that want to hear good strong preaching that will save the soul, we know how precious our preacher is. Souls are precious to us, we love them enough to tell them the truth. Why are we this way? Because HE is precious to us!

1 Peter 2:7  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1 Peter 2:8  And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 Peter 2:10  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

See why we love him so much, why we love truth so much, why we love worship so much, and why we love church so much? Its because he is PRECIOUS to us, because he brought us out of darkness into his marvelous light!

Look what the Lord hath done!

Don't Look For a Shortcut, The Old Paths Are the Original and Only Way!

A tombstone read:
"Pause, stranger, when you pass me by,
For as you are, so once was I.
As I am now, so will you be.
Then prepare unto death, and follow me."

Pushing the grass aside a bit more, was found the following scratched on the stone, done with a crude instrument:

"To follow you I'm not content. Till I know which way you went."

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait (narrow, one way) gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The message Bible says it like this:

Matthew 7:13  "Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do.
Matthew 7:14  The way to life--to God!--is vigorous and requires total attention.

It aint suppose to be easy! Living for God requires us to give him everything we have.

As the book of Matthew let us know well there are many false prophets in the world that are attempting to use many gimmicks to try to turn the simple from the strait way, the only way, the way that is not always easy. We do not need a new formula, we still need the old paths of righteousness. A lot of 'new' formulas are being used by the enemy to deceive folks in to believing they are saved when in fact are they are on the road to destruction .

It would be wise of us to follow the strait and narrow, to follow the way that few will travel. It may seem to be the less popular way, but don't consider the circumstances of the path as much as you consider the destination of the way. We may even have a life of afflictions, but if it ends with us hearing, "well done" it will be well worth whatever it took. Just ask the beggar, the rich man had a great natural life but that didn't mean he had a right relationship with God (Luke 16). Whatever it takes I want to commit myself unto his will and way! I'll obey the scriptures and let the world go by.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."- Robert Frost

Don't look for shortcuts, just obey the scriptures.

Dancing in the Blessed Rain!

Matthew 5:45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Life isn't always fair; if you think it should be and ever will be then you have not lived long enough. Circumstances beyond our control, and sometimes even caused by our own actions happen to everyone. We cannot change that. Things happen to good people that we may never understand. But we cannot question God, he always has everything in control. Remember the Sunday school song, "He has the whole world in his hands," how true that is. When we live for God, we are blessed! You see it is true that it rains on us just like it does the unjust. What seems like 'bad' things happen to us just like it does to heathens that do not want anything to do with God. But you know what the difference is? Our rain is blessed rain! You see the thing the enemy intends to use to destroy is sometimes the very thing God uses to save us. See God always has the bigger picture in mind.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

See we get caught up in day to day life, and how our life is going. God is concerned about us as eternal beings. He wants us to be saved. God never intends to hurt us, only to make us better. You see when it rains on the unjust it destroys them, but when it rains on the righteous it just makes us drawer closer to him and stronger!

Matthew 7:24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Matthew 7:25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Matthew 7:26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Matthew 7:27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

You see we can see the trails and circumstance of life from a different perspective when we are on the rock, I'm sure Noah saw the water differently while he was floating in the ark as the world drowned. God is always going make provision for his people. What other folks that don't have a walk with God would see as the end of the world, we can see as a blessing in disguise. What situations in life that would be a 'flood' of catastrophic proportions to people living for the temporal, is nothing more than just water for the rose that is blooming in our lives when we stay in the will of God.  You see the trails we face when living for God are only blessings in disguise.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Yes it rains on the just, but it's BLESSED rain. Working for us!

1 Corinthians 13:12  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Weeping only last for the night, joy always comes in the morning! Dance in the rain, it is blessed!
