The Truth About Grace

So there are those that say Grace alone saves us? Let's see what the Bible says:

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.

So IF grace alone saves us then all men will be saved, because clearly the grace of God has appeared unto all men.

Let's consider this next verse from the same Bible:

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, wh
ich leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.

verse 23....I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So clearly from the Bible all men will not be saved. So either the Bible contradicts itself, are the statement that grace alone saves us is wrong. I am going to stick with the Bible over the traditions of men, and say the Bible is always right. The grace of God has appeared unto all men and gave them opportunity but unless we let God work in our lives we will be lost.

Grace + nothing does not and never will equal salvation.

But rather grace brings us opportunity to obtain salvation by the word of God.

Grace +Faith+ Obedience= Salvation

We want to be like the wise man who later on in chapter 7 of Matthew heard the sayings of Jesus and did them. God showed us his grace by what he did and then giving us a preacher to preach to us his word, so we could mix it with faith and obey the scriptures. And when we obey he gives us his spirit.(Acts 5:32)

God's grace appeared unto Noah (Genesis 6:22), but Noah then had to listen to God's voice and build a ark. God has given us a plan, his word, and his grace (divine influence) is working on our hearts asking us just to listen and obey his voice just like Noah did. And when Noah listened in faith, he was saved from destruction.

Titus 2:12 goes on to say "(grace) Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world...

So grace teaches us, that's what God is trying to do by his word. Teaches us how to please him, and that's by being obedient.

Never take tradition, or what you have always heard or thought, over the word of God. The word is always truth, and truth is the only thing we need.
